Thai Turkey Sliders

Thai Turkey Sliders

Thai Turkey Sliders
Serve with Asian broccoli slaw-We could not get enough of these (even the picky eater in the family)! It's the perfect blend of all that we love about Thai food- a little spicy ginger, a little heat from sriracha sauce, salty fish sauce and fresh herbal cilantro. These make a fun dinner or a great appetizer at your next get together.

    Ingredients
    • 1pound ground turkey
    • 1/2teaspoon ground black pepper
    • 3/4teaspoon sea salt, divided
    • 4 green onions, chopped, divided
    • 1teaspoon sriracha
    • 1teaspoon minced fresh ginger
    • 2tablespoon fresh chopped cilantro; extra for condiment
    • 1teaspoon fish sauce*
    • 1teaspoon soy sauce
    • 1/2tablespoon grape seed or canola oil
    • 7 slider or dinner rolls, cut in half
    • Whole butter lettuce leaves
    • 1 bag broccoli slaw
    • 1 1/2tablespoons sesame oil
    • 1tablespoon seasoned rice vinegar
    • 1tablespoon agave syrup or coconut date sugar
    Instructions
    1. Combine the ground turkey, 1/4 teaspoon each of salt and black pepper, 2 green onions, chopped, and the following 5 ingredients (sriracha through soy sauce) in a large mixing bowl. Form the mixture into 7 slider size patties.
    2. Heat 1/2 tablespoon oil in a large flat skillet over medium-high heat. Add the slider patties and brown for 5 minutes. Flip and brown another 5-7 minutes. Remove the patties to a plate covered with a paper towel to drain any excess oil.
    3. To assemble the slider: Place one slider pattie in a slider roll. Top with butter lettuce and some cilantro leaves. Serve with a side of Asian broccoli slaw.
    4. To prepare broccoli slaw: Combine the broccoli slaw, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, 2 green onions, chopped, and the following three ingredients (sesame oil through sugar). Mix well and serve with Thai turkey sliders.
    Recipe Notes

Double the recipe for the Thai sliders for a family of four to five so each can have 2 or more sliders.

If you want to kick up the slaw add in some sriracha sauce and chopped fresh cilantro.

We loved the sliders without any kind of sauce but, if you must, try mixing some cilantro and sriracha with either mayo or plain Greek yogurt.
